2008 Behind The Scenes - Pre-Season Training
Preseason 2008 saw the HSBC Waratahs head to Wollongong for an intensive three day training camp, designed to fine tune the players physically and also bring them together off the field.
The Waratahs knuckled down to business, completing a series of searching field and strength sessions at Wollongong University and also taking part in an impromptu surf carnival at Bulli Beach.
The team based carnival was won by the aptly named “Budgie Smugglers”, headed up by Wallaby Alastair Baxter and characterised by their penchant for wearing speedos during competition.
The Waratahs first trial match is against the Reds at Campbelltown on Australia Day, Saturday 26 January.
