In 2008 Al Baxter became Australia’s most capped prop, surpassing Ewen McKenzie’s mark of 51 Test matches. He is currently sitting on 95 NSW caps, and while he is set to reach 100 appearances for his home state in 2009, the tighthead specialist is still yet to score a point for the Waratahs.

Baxter has been a cornerstone of the Waratahs pack since coming to prominence during 2002, playing 62 straight Super 14 games, while he has also featured in two World Cups after debuting in the lead up to the 2003 tournament.

Born in Canberra on 21 January 1977 and educated at the Shore School in North Sydney, Baxter went on to study Architecture at Sydney University while progressing through the ranks of the Northern Suburbs club towards an eventual state debut for the Waratahs in 2000.
