Matt Carraro’s career has been on a steady rise for the last three seasons and saw him feature prominently in the Waratahs run to the 2008 Super 14 Final.
Carraro’s direct style and considerable strength saw him rise to prominence for Randwick during the 2006 club season, a year that finished with the former Waratah Academy member signed to a rookie contract by the Brumbies. He returned to NSW to join the Waratahs Super 14 squad in 2008, and after making a mid-season debut, went on to play seven matches and earn a place in the Australia A squad for the IRB Pacific Nations Cup.
Born in Gosford on 8 August 1984, Carraro grew up playing for the Ourimbah Razorbacks before representing Australian Schools out of St. Joseph’s College Hunters Hill in 2002.
