While already vastly experience at 23 years of age, Tatafu Polota-Nau is still one of Australian Rugby’s rising stars.
In his first three seasons of Super 14, Polota-Nau has missed just two matches, while before that be became one of the few players in southern hemisphere to make their Test debut before playing Super 14 Rugby. Polota-Nau has represented Australia at every level from Schoolboys to the Wallabies, and while hand surgery kept him out of the early domestic Tests in 2008, he re-established his place in the squad once fully fit.
Born in Sydney on 26 July 1985, Polota-Nau was educated at Granville South High School and captained Australian Schools against Fiji in 2003. After playing the majority of his underage Rugby at flanker, Polota-Nau switched to hooker and in 2005 was named the IRB U21 Player of the Year.
