Will Caldwell is earning a reputation as one of the quiet achievers of Australian Rugby, playing every minute of the 2007 season before bringing up 50 NSW caps in 2008.
The hard-working second-rower’s career was brought on markedly in 2007 with the injury-enforced absence of Dan Vickerman, and with the Wallaby lock heading overseas Caldwell will again take on more responsibility in 2009 in what will be his sixth season of provincial Rugby. While injury saw him miss a lot of Rugby following the 2008 Super 14 season, Caldwell’s durability has been one of his assets, playing 39 of the Waratahs 42 matches in the last three years.
Born on 17 August 1982, Caldwell was educated at The King’s School, Parramatta and grew up playing Rugby in Young alongside fellow Waratah Tom Carter.
