Tyler Ross from Merewether-Carlton Under 11s has been rewarded for his amazing efforts in winning the Samsung Try of the Week.

It is the second time in as many weeks a Merewether-Carlton Junior has won the Try of the Week after Don Pritchard from the club's Under 16s took out the prize last week.

The competition, conducted by the NSW Rugby Union, is open to all junior Rugby players across the state and involves players, parents, clubs and schools sending in video footage of the best tries scored each weekend.

Tyler's long-range try against the Singleton Bulls has scored him a Samsung T10 MP3 Player valued at $269, and you can view the try online by clicking here.

He now goes into the running to win the Samsung Try of the Year. All weekly winners will be judged by HSBC Waratahs players and coaches with the best try winning a Samsung home entertainment package valued at $3,000.

The Try of the Week is just one element of the Samsung Rugby Development Program. Aimed at kids, the Program is designed to get kids involved in a series of fun, interesting events to encourage participation in Rugby, and has already seen the distribution of 15,000 Samsung backpacks to junior players all over the state.
