On Saturday 25 October 2008 the streets of Sydney will be awash in a sea of pink as the Dove Pink Star Walk returns for its third year.
Thousands of people will stroll the streets of Sydney dressed up in pink shirts, hats, accessories and anything else they can find, and by registering with the NSW Rugby group you will receive your own commemorative t-shirt.
This fun 5km stroll through the CBD is held each year in aid of the National Breast Cancer Foundation, with proceeds helping to fund research for the prevention and cure of breast cancer.
It is also an acknowledgement of the 2500 women that die of Breast Cancer each year in Australia.
The Lady Waratahs group will start assembling in the Parade Grounds of the Royal Botanic Gardens at 6:30pm ready for the 8:00pm start.
The Dove Pink Star Walk will follow a beautiful scenic route, under the stars, past the Sydney Opera House and Circular Quay, finishing up at Darling Harbour.
Open to men, women, and children of all ages and fitness levels, everyone is welcome to participate. Or for those who can't make it, they can sponsor a participant walking in the event or make a donation.
Prizes awarded on the night for the best costumes and for those adopting the pink spirit the most, plus entertainment throughout the evening to cheer everyone on until the last person crosses the finish line.
