The HSBC Waratahs v Brumbies game day is set to be a special occasion for over a 1000 juniors as they participate in the 2012 Juniors March Past. Participating juniors and officials will experience the thrill of marching inside the Olympic Stadium in their club colours before enjoying the main game.
West Juniors Rugby Union Club Vice President Siobhan Seiuli said the club are back for a second year in a row with over 150 marching this year. Seiuli reflected on the event as “a phenomenal experience for the kids and something they really look forward to. The kids look up to the Tahs and think one day I might be out here playing. It’s great to see the junior rugby community recognised and a fantastic night out for families.”
The HSBC Waratahs hold strong ties with Junior Rugby in NSW with several current players coming through the junior ranks. HSBC Waratahs Chris Alcock, Paddy Ryan, Damien Fitzpatrick, Greg Peterson, Lotu Taukeiaho and Nathan Trist attended the finals day of the NSW State Championships over the recent long weekend helping teams prepare for their matches and participating in the final presentations for each age group.
