Over the past three weeks, the Sydney rugby community has come together together in support of Seti Tafua, the Northern Suburbs first grade player who suffered a serious injury playing for second grade game against Warringah on June 23.
Seti landed awkwardly on his head, dislocating his C5 and C6 vertebrae, causing damage to his spinal cord and leaving him with no motor skill from the waist down.
One of a number of fund raising initiatives arranged by his club Norths, last weekend the club's fundraising day raised $12,000, thanks to the co-operation of hosts and Shute Shield round 11 opponents Eastern Suburbs.
Further events are being planned, with Norths' next home match against Sydney University on Saturday 21 July among them. Further details will follow but in the meantime, anyone wishing to contribute to the fundraising efforts to help towards the financial needs of Seti and his family can make a donation below.
All funds raised in support of Seti will now be directed to a specific bank account which has been established to manage his financial needs in the immediate and distant future.
