Round for of the Shute Shield competition saw Sydney University go down 24-41 in thrilling fashion to Northern Suburbs in a bush rugby spectacle at Eridge Park, Bowral.

The New South Wales Suburban Rugby Union (NSWSRU) competition kicks off this weekend with 50 clubs participating in six Divisions, providing a game for over 5,000 players across the Sydney region

Round Four of the Shute Shield will see the Students take on the Shoremen in the 2016 Grand Final rematch. The catch? The game has been taken to the bush and will be hosted at Eridge Park – home of the Bowral Blacks.

Featuring hundreds of aspiring young players, the Camps are run in the school holidays by Development Officers from NSW Rugby and played host to a handful of NSW Waratahs cameos scattered between each location.

The NSW Rugby Union will recognise the role that volunteers in junior rugby clubs play by inviting representatives to become a Waratahs Club Legend this Friday at the match between the NSW Waratahs and the Southern Kings.

The NSW Rugby Union has announced that Michael Wells, Jed Holloway and Sekope Kepu will be amongst the players attending the one day camps that run in regional NSW and in Sydney from April 18.

Round three of the Shute Shield will see the undefeated Manly Marlins host the Parramatta in what Two-Blues coach Paul Hardwick believes will be a massive test for his side.

The first round of the Sydney Women’s Rugby 7’s Series will be played this weekend, with six teams drawn from eight clubs competing in the one day tournament at Koola Park, East Killara.

All junior rugby clubs in NSW are invited to take to the field at Allianz Stadium for the Annual Junior Clubs March Past on May 6.

TracTahs is the program that identifies young, tight five players from the Under 12 age group and upwards inducts young tight five players into the Waratah Way and provides the training for them to play high level rugby in the future.
