The NSW Rugby Secondary Schools Sevens and the Primary School Sevens State Championships will be held this Tuesday and Wednesday at The Kings School in Parramatta.

In all regions across the state of New South Wales from the bush to the beach, both  primary and secondary schools have held 7's competitions run by the NSW Rugby development staff.

The winners of these regional gala days now travel to The Kings School for the State 7’s finals where teams will play for the title of NSW’s best 7’s team from U12’s right through to U18’s in the girls and boys divisions.

The Secondary School 7’s finals will be played on Tuesday, June 27 with the Primary Schools 7s finals being contested the following day.

NSW Rugby Union Sydney Development Manager Owain Roberts says that over 700 players will be participating in the finals and it gives the students a really good rugby experience.

“The importance of the competitions is that it can give players a pathway to reach higher honours,” Owain said.

“With so many participating over the two days it’s a tremendous atmosphere around the games and it does lead to the chance for the players to claim a state title as champions.”
